I am here. My bags are not. I believe they will be here later tonight. I had a close connection between my flights in and out of Paris. I made it, but I think that's where the bags did not fair as well.
I have taken a short nap and feel much better. I ran into two of my colleagues while checking into the hotel. They went out for some food but I want to stay here until my bags show up. Not only did I feel like relaxing, I'm not sure I should be seen in public after 24 hours of traveling and no toiletries to freshen up.Let alone be making first impressions.
I can not comment much on France because I was in the country for a whopping 45 minutes. All I'll say is it smelled like chicken salad. No, really, it did. We got off the plane and there was this overwhelming (slightly nauseating) smell of chicken salad. Maybe I would have just figured I was tired and smelling things (?) but the people before AND after me also commented on it.
I am looking forward to touring Zurich. I've been slightly intimidated here because there are truly 3 languages. If I try my abhorrent non-Rosetta-Stone-endorsed French, I'm sure the person will speak German. I have no idea how to attempt German. So I'm just sticking with the English and they're probably thinking "Sacrebleu". It will be nice to have group events until I get my bearings around here.
